Could you talk about the Altima’s trim levels and features?
The Altima is offered in five trim levels ranging from the entry-level S to the top-of-the-line Platinum. The S model comes outfitted with features like push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, a rearview camera, Apple and Android smartphone integration, an 8-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, and a split-folding rear seat. The SR adds to the S with a sportier suspension with transmission paddle shifters and exclusive styling elements. The SV, SL and Platinum come with heated front seats and dual-zone climate control, noise-reducing side windows, navigation, a Bose sound system, larger wheels, and ambient cabin lighting.
What about the Altima’s engine?
There are two engine options offered for the 2020 Altima. The standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that generates 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Nissan pairs this engine with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The standard drivetrain configuration is front-wheel drive but all-wheel drive is offered. The second engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 248 pound-feet of torque and 280 pound-feet of torque. This engine is also paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. AWD is not available.
Can you tell me about the sedan’s safety features?
Safety is important to Nissan, which is why they want to protect all those that drive and ride in their vehicles. The Altima comes outfitted with a host of standard safety features including a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, and front collision warning. There are a number of available safety features including rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist technology suite is also available for the Altima, outfitting the sedan with lane keeping assist, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, and more!
