What can you tell me about the Altima’s safety features?
Along with a gorgeous exterior styling and a lean and mean demeanor, the Nissan Altima comes standard with a whole host of safety features such as standard Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Intelligent Driver Alertness, which are available on all trims. Once again, the Altima is available with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility system, which has ProPilot Assist, which helps drivers with their driving by reducing acceleration, steering, and braking in certain situations. Also available is the Saftey Shield 360 package, which adds Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, radar-based Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and High Beam Assist. Moving up to the Platinum trim adds to this with Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor.
What’s under the hood of the Altima?
All trims of the 2021 Nissan Altima comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and pumps out 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, which comes standard with front-wheel-drive. Optional is a turbocharged 2.0-liter, which rips out an impressive 236 horsepower and an impressive 267 lb-ft of torque. This level of power is rarely seen on a four-cylinder. Both engines pair nicely with the next-generation Xtronic transmission. While both engines come with front-wheel-drive, you can upgrade to the Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive, which is standard on Platinum. This system also mixes in advanced torque split control, which will automatically distribute torque to the wheels per the road and driving conditions.
